He graduated from Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, Painting Department.
Karyağdı had 11 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 100 group exhibitions. His works reside in various museums and collections, and he also has 4 awards. He was a jury member in several painting competitions. He worked as a faculty member in the Painting Department of the Atatürk Education Faculty of Marmara University between 1996–2013 and is currently working at the Yeditepe University in the department of Plastics Arts. In his works, the artist aims to reveal both the image and its conceptual change of the image in perception, and turns to a kind of self-analysis with the image he treats as a visual text. The fact that the conventional subjects in his works are the iconographies that the audience knows, recognizes and adopts, allows an investigation through art and the examination of artistic taboos. His work is based on an "analysis-synthesis" / "disruption-construction" practice.
He currently lives and works in İstanbul.
